To get a better idea of the Variables universe, check out a brief description here, as written in 1999 by the journalist Hank Foster, who will play a large role in the ongoing series. I’m working on finalizing the first script right now and I have the initial story arc all plotted out and expect to have the cover and first page of Variables 8/92: #1 done some time shortly after the new year.

In the meantime, take a look at the short story of Arnaud Fournier, the first entry in a collection of short stories that will add depth to the Variables universe, touching on characters that we won’t have time to explore in the main book (which has a collection of over 50 characters and continues to grow every day, it seems).

This is a huge task and I have dozens of pages, ideas, and notes all over the place, including an eight page timeline that plots out the main story arcs. In the next few days, expect to see a few character bios posted here that will outline a few of the major players you’ll see in the first issue of Variables 8/92 so keep us in your bookmarks, like our Facebook page, or follow our Twitter account!
