And with the first scene of the issue completed, we can move back to Blake, who is still with his abductors from the last issue.

This page is my favorite of the series so far and I’m excited to show it in full color next Tuesday. I think the inks turned out nicely and the backgrounds work well with the foreground, particularly in the first panel with the truck. It looks even better in color so be sure to check back next week when it’s posted.

As I mentioned earlier, I’m getting a little ahead with Variables so next week, I will post two pages instead of one. I want to post a few bonus pages early in issue two so that I’ll be able to finish the issue before the end of the year. It’s a bit of an arbitrary time to finish but with most webcomics taking a long hiatus over Christmas and New Year’s, I’d like to get the second issue out of the way and begin work on issue three so I can start it up first thing in 2012.

I’m taking the day off today to visit the Minnesota State Fair so I’m out of here. Enjoy the page and be sure to check back next week for TWO new pages!
