This is my favorite piece in awhile… I wanted to play around with composition and different brushes in Corel Painter and a (mostly) black and white image of a Stormtrooper seemed like good subject matter. Given my *adoration* of Star Wars, it’s a bit surprising that I don’t draw more material from George Lucas’ opus. With the comic idea I’m tossing around in my head (and Google Docs) lately, I continue to consider a loose, watercolor paint style for the comic. After I wrap up a few pieces this week, I hope to start churning out some concept art for the comic. My only problem with the watercolor painting style is that it’s taking me way too long to achieve the effect I want. Only practice and time will tell if I can turn this style into something that will work with my compressed workflow schedule.
