But not before I squeeze in one more page preview! It’s Blake again and he’s still struggling with the kidnappers but gets in a lick on one of them.
It’s a weird thing to behold but since I’m a few pages ahead of what I’m posting, I’ve noticed a trend in my pages. The first page of the scene is always the most intricate and time-consuming and ends up being my favorite of the scene. Some of this is due to the first page almost always containing an establishing shot but I think there’s more to it than that. I feel as if I start to burn out on a scene by the third or fourth page and just want to get on to the next new, exciting thing. I need to figure out a way to keep myself more engaged with later pages to avoid being unhappy with the resulting pages and how they’re drawn.
I want to mention it one more time but starting tonight, DigiCon, the first online comic book convention, is starting up and running through Sunday night. I will be attending as much of it as possible (which should be pretty considerable) and will be hosting (probably) two panels, one on comic book coloring and another on how to assemble a book for print. Both are scheduled for Saturday so I have the feeling that almost all of my Saturday will be spent in front of the computer, chatting with people. On Sunday, my attendance will be more sporadic, as I will try to get some work done on the book. Anyway, the con is a really cool idea and it’s free to readers/fans so come by and check it out if you get the chance.
