The first issue of the book is proceeding nicely. I’ve finished the first page’s pencils and roughed out the second page. I’ve also started up a new short story so there is a lot of content just waiting for my left hand to get around to drawing it. Sooner or later, I think I’m going to have to find a colorist to speed up the process. It’d be nice to spend 10-12 hours on a full page instead of 20 or more on each of them.
Ideas for the first cover are still coming rather slowly… I have the entire first arc outlined and the first script finalized but nothing is standing out as a great piece to display as an introduction. I keep bouncing back and forth between a few pretty mediocre ideas and just can’t envision something that gives me that “A-ha!” inspiration to start penciling it right then and there. But, it’s not as if there isn’t other work to keep me busy in the meantime…
Tonight, we’re going to see Green Hornet in 3D. To say I’m wary of this movie is a bit of an understatement. When I picture a bad-ass martial artist like the Hornet, Seth Rogen and his bumbling comedy aren’t exactly what comes to mind but I’m reserving all opinions until I actually see the movie. At least the car looks fantastic. I’ll give it that much.
Thanks again to those of you who are following the site before it officially goes live, since updates are rather few and far between. My plan is to stockpile a few pages so when the launch is official, there are at least three pages of the main book posted at once and hopefully one additional page that I somehow manage to find the time to finish. In the meantime, I hope the short stories are interesting enough to keep you poking in here now and again.
