MCBA Fall ComiCon – October 8th, 2016
Hey all, I will be at Fall ComiCon this weekend (formerly known as FallCon), peddling my wares to geek nation. As usual, I will be offering prints, original art, and my comic book, Duplicity. Due to this being a one-day convention, if you’d like to purchase an original sketch from me, please come by my table as early as possible so I can make sure you get on the docket before it fills for the day. As always, I’m looking forward to another fantastic MCBA event and hope to see you all there on Saturday! Once again, Fall ComiCon will... View Article
What image format should I use for my comic?
Disclaimer: I’m a senior front-end web developer by trade (and have been for over a decade), so I have a pretty solid grasp on the pros/cons of this argument. This is something I discuss with teammates ad nauseum. I’ve been in heated discussions with development teams of 30+ people over image formatting issues on multi-million dollar projects. I’m not trying to blow my own horn, merely explaining my history a bit so your first response isn’t “Who is this schmuck and why should I listen to him?” I certainly don’t know everything about the web – far from it – but my foundation... Join Doug Kallberg, Phil Juliano, Brad Perri, and myself at 12:30pm on Saturday for our panel “Doodles to Downloads: Developing your own Digital Comic“. Between the four... View Article
Time Dick is available digitally for only 99 cents!
Buy Time Dick on Comixology “Jump into Time Dick with Vivian Gittes and her one true love; the dark, seedy, and gorgeous America of the 1930s. Like so many before her, Gittes is looking for the final big score so she can wash her hands of the dirty work and kick back in the life of, if not luxury, at least glamour and style. All she needs is one. Last. Job.” The first chapter of my sci-fi homage to film noir is available on Comixology for only 99 cents! This is the project I’ve wanted to do for a long... View Article
Episode 69: Wool
In this week’s comic book podcast, Nick and Brock talk Wool, the adaptation of Hugh Howey’s series of short stories. Walking into the book with zero expectations, both left the experience pleasantly surprised. They also talk about trailers (again) because, in case you haven’t noticed, it seems a week no longer passes without a new comic book movie trailer being released to the public. This week’s victim is the new Suicide Squad trailer. Does DC have the chops to pull off a silly, fun comic book movie? In other more comic book-y news, Brock’s short story comic, Duplicity, is now available... View Article
