Back to the future past
Time travel a common basis for a sci-fi story. In this week’s comic book podcast, Brock and Nick look at Rocket Girl, a time-traveling teen cop (No. There is no typo there.) lands in the 80’s to stop a mega-corporation and beat up street thugs. Unfortunately, she does not save society from Yahoo Serious while she’s back there.
The webcomic review for the week is The Property of Hate. A metal name for a comic about a little girl on an adventure through a dream land. There is some darkness in this still-going work, but it definitely wins in the best character with a TV for a head contest. You wouldn’t think this would be a category, but if you’ve read Saga, it’s tempting to compare.
Up first, Brock discusses half-page advertisements in comics, something that DC is trying out, as well as several other advertising opportunities for creators in digital publishing. Later, Artwork and some details of the abandoned George Miller Justice League movie were making the rounds on the internet and news is starting to leak out regarding casting for the new Spiderman.
